Dr Ogheneruona (Ruona) Diemuodeke is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria; he teaches energy and applied thermodynamics related courses. He is a Fellow of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Empowering the Teachers (MIT-ETT), with a close tie with the MIT Energy Initiative.
His research interconnects renewable and clean energy technology, deep decarbonization and environmental sustainability; with major outputs in clean cooking and cooling, and low-grade energy conversion systems. He is a Lead Author for the Working Group III contribution to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Sixth Assessment Report (AR6). He is a recipient of many research grants; currently coordinates an MSc Energy Access and Renewable Energy Technology program at the University of Port Harcourt. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the prestigious journal of Energy and Climate Change (Elsevier) and Renewable and Sustainable Energy Transition (Elsevier)
